The eyes give it away first. We start there.

The area around the eyes is the most technically demanding region of the face and the first to show age. It is also the region our oculofacial plastic surgeon operates in every day.

Sciton laser platform

One platform. Three very different jobs.

The Sciton system lets us match the treatment to the problem and to how much downtime your life allows — rather than putting every face through the same device.

BBL — BroadBand Light

Broadband light for brown spots, red spots, sun damage and broken capillaries. Little to no downtime, done as a series. This is the workhorse for skin that has spent thirty years in Florida.

We also use BBL to treat dry eye. Applied along the lower lids, it improves the function of the oil glands that keep the tear film stable — which is why a treatment most people think of as cosmetic sits in an eye practice. If you have been managing dry eye with drops that stopped working, ask us about it. BBL is a self-pay treatment.

More on dry eye treatment

Halo — hybrid fractional resurfacing

Combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths in a single pass, which buys you meaningful improvement in tone, texture and fine lines with far less downtime than full resurfacing. Usually several days of looking sunburned rather than several weeks.

TRL — tunable resurfacing

Full ablative resurfacing, tuned to depth. The most powerful option we have for deep lines, significant sun damage and texture — and the one that asks the most of you in recovery. We reserve it for people who want a real change and can plan around it.

Injectables

Botox and fillers, placed by people who know this anatomy.

Botox — cosmetic

Frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet. Placement around the eye is unforgiving, and a millimetre in the wrong direction is the difference between a good result and a dropped lid.

Botox — functional

Botox is also a medical treatment. Blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm are conditions our oculofacial plastic surgeon treats, and this use is frequently covered by insurance rather than paid out of pocket.

Dermal fillers

Volume restoration in the tear trough, midface and around the mouth. The under-eye is the single most technically demanding area to fill, and the one most often done badly elsewhere.

Why an eye practice, and not a medspa.

Because the periocular region is not a general aesthetics problem. It is our specialty, and it has been since 2003.

  • Our oculofacial plastic surgeon is fellowship-trained in the anatomy of the eyelids, brow and orbit
  • If a treatment reveals a medical problem — ptosis, dry eye, a lesion that needs a biopsy — the specialist is down the hall
  • Some of what patients come in for cosmetically turns out to be covered medically. We will tell you when that is the case

Before publishing: confirm which office each service is offered at, who performs injectables, and whether we publish pricing. If the practice decides to narrow this line to periocular aesthetics sold through the exam room, this page should shrink accordingly.

Start with a conversation.

A consultation will tell you which of these is right for your skin — and whether any part of it is medical rather than cosmetic.
